What are you doing down there?
Are you having the time to be uber-crafty like you wanted?
Not really. We have been traveling way more than expected, which is awesome. And have Spanish classes when we’re in town… Not to mention, everything here takes 3x as long to do as it would in the US. (Like grocery shopping, for example.)
I brought a bunch of supplies for things that I don’t typically do (painting and block printing). They have kept me entertained on a few occasions, and I’m glad I brought them. But I wouldn’t say I’ve been uber-crafty with them! I crave paper and glue and my fancy stapler.
I have been getting really into Photoshop, thanks to the incredibly photogenic and inspiring Peru, and this awesome free online course offered by Creative Techs in Seattle.
I read a bunch (books and online) and listen to tons of podcasts. Infovore!
I’m also loving the free time to just hang out and not have any responsibilities. Actually, I get annoyed when a responsibility comes up, like going grocery shopping or paying a bill. Sometimes, all I want to do is sit and absorb the yellow walls in my apartment.
When I get bored of doing all of the above, I drag Scott out on another road trip and start the cycle over again.
