We’ve been back for almost a week now, and wow. I’m back. It’s almost like the last 6-months never happened, except I keep talking to myself in Spanish. Seattle is the same place that I knew and missed and love. It’s nice to slip right back into things.
Actually, I have to laugh when I say that because we haven’t even unpacked yet. So “slipping back into things” this week was just a lot of procrastination on my part. Scott was back to work on Monday and has been working hard all week. (They officially shipped their game yesterday!) I, however, have been dilly dallying around town, trying to decide on the best mocha on the hill (I’m heavily leaning towards Victrola), picking out paint colors (Sherwin Williams “Emotional”, “Minks” and “Parakeet” so far) and going out with friends (Steph, Carina, Casey, Tami, Andy, and Blythe, so good to see you) . It was really awesome.
I’m hoping that my next transition into the MBA program is just as easy and allows for as much procrastination and socializing! I attended an orientation for the Career Center on Thursday and was blown away by the amount of information that they had to share. My calendar has started filling up with events, including an appointment next week with a career coach to go over my resume. I’m really stoked to have such a great resource at my disposal!
I also walked away pretty excited about the people that I met. I felt a little awkward at the orientation itself… Lots of information, lots of smart people in the room, and my brain kept reverting back to Spanish. BUT, I went to a happy hour afterward and got to chat with some classmates who are right there with me, pretty much feeling overwhelmed and in awe. I’m taking the fact that there was beer and good conversation and general camaraderie to be a very good sign.
