We got into Máncora on Wednesday after an 18hr, overnight bus ride from Lima. The trip wasn’t as bad as it sounds. First off, they showed a good movie. We watched Speed Racer. I liked it’s sparkle. (The movie was directed by the same people who did The Matrix, so you get the idea.) Then they served us dinner, and I had remembered to order the vegetarian option, which is always an egg soufflé of some sort. And then I slept until we arrived in Máncora the next morning. Easy.

Since arriving, I’ve been soaking in the sunshine! It’s been hovering around 80 degrees in the day time. I was a little worried when I woke up to overcast skies on Thursday, but they quickly burned off. And then I quickly burned myself while rotating between sitting near the pool, getting in the pool, sitting back near the pool, cooling off in the bungalow, buying a cold beverage and then repeating. 

To top off the awesome sunshine, we’re staying in a really beautiful hotel called Kimbas Bungalows. The grounds are decorated with an Indian/Zen theme – elephant statues, flying mermaids, native masks. It’s the perfect setting to finish our time in Peru!
