Heather’s last day! Sniffle.
We were up early on Sunday for our taxi ride to the Pisac market. After all of the hype that it’s the biggest, best, market in Peru, I was a little disappointed. For the most part, the artisan goods at the Pisac market are the same standard fare that you find everywhere else, just in mass. In terms of uniqueness, the market in Ayacucho is definitely the best.
That didn’t stop Heather and I from finding some gems though. It was a nice drive through the Sacred Valley to get there, and the perfect way to wrap up our “Andes Artisan Tour”.
We all flew to Lima together in the later afternoon, and were immediately transported back to America. The Lima airport has a Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, two McDonalds and a Papa John’s Pizza. Deciding what to have for dinner was difficult…
After dinner and hanging out at the Starbucks for a few hours, we left Heather at the airport to catch our overnight bus to Trujillo. Heather’s flight back to the US was at midnight. Sniffle.
Heather is this close to getting a job back in Africa, where she lived for 3 years in the Peace Corps. Who knows what country we’ll see each other in next. For the time being it’s back to our respective corners of the earth.
