It took distance and old age for my older sister and I to figure out that we liked each other. Growing up in a family of 5 kids could be ruthless at times. Sibling rivalry abounded.
Now that my sister and I have been pretty consistently living on either different ends of the US or different continents, it seems we can’t go even a year without seeing each other! Before she wrapped up her Peace Corp service in Botswana last year, we went down for an almost 3 week long visit. We totally had the time of our lives, thanks to our local tour guides!
Heather has since graduated from her Master’s in Public Health program, and came down to Peru for a celebratory vacation. So it’s my turn to return the favor!! I can’t promise amazing elephants, but there will be amazing ruins to be seen.
We’re taking a very off the beaten path trip through the high Andes from Lima to Cusco, with stops in Huancayo and Ayacucho along the way.
