Allison´s Description of the Inca Trail
Day 1: Difficult. Use Scott the porter for help.
Day 2: Extremely hard summit. Hire a porter to carry your pack. You make it to the top in good spirits, but get a bit of altitude sickness. Bloody nose, stomach ache and seeing spots make way down treacherous.
Day 3: You´ve made it this far, so we throw in some amazing ancient ruins to entice you to move forward. Trek is very hard, mostly a long way down. (Note: Best to hire a porter again so you can enjoy seeing him run past you. Maybe this will motivate you… but most likely it does not.)
Day 4: It rained all night, your tent leaked and you´re all wet. Then you are forgotten about and woken up late (late being 4:45am), so you don´t t get any breakfast. But… you… eventually… (after potentially erasing all of your photos)… make it to MACHU PICCHU!! Good times!

I have a bunch of shots from Machu Picchu on a different memory card, but I, um, reformatted the card from our trek just as we were arriving at the site today. Scott can probably perform amazing technical feats to restore them… So stay tuned for photos!!
