I’m pretty pleased to have my job after another big round of layoffs at my work today. Man, layoffs are depressing on both sides… Of course, losing your job is definitely worse. But sticking around to work at a company that is struggling also isn’t very exciting.
That said, I have a BUNCH of projects going on this summer to get me through. And the weather is finally picking up, which has got me really excited.
- Spanish lessons start next week at the Seattle Language Academy. Scott is in 101, I’m in 201… I hope I can keep up. It’s been a while.
- The SVC Photoshop course I’m taking also starts next week. I’m especially excited for this one!
- Steph and I are working on a collaborative letterpress calendar. I foresee many evenings with the press in our future.
- Our annual 4th of July party is going to be awesome. The theme this year: Forty’s for the 4th. Think bandanas and corn bread.
- Our anniversary weekend at Sinclair Island is also going to be a bit of a project as well… 10 people on a private island in the San Juans!
- My MBA applications are due in October. I’m shooting for the earlier deadline so I can hopefully interview before we leave for Peru.
p.s. Bathroom update: The tile is in, but needs to be fixed. The concrete countertop has been poured, but needs to be fixed. The cabinet still hasn’t been fixed… We should have a toilet on Monday.
